Explore the mountain ropes adventure courses in a gorgeous setting in Charente-Maritime, between Cognac and Saintes! The Fontdouce Adventure Park offers mountain ropes courses in a vast forest of ancient oaks, along a splendid green valley that borders the ancient Fontdouce Abbey, a 12th- and 13th-century building listed as a historic monument. At Fontdouce, the tree climbing course offers three courses for children (for little ones from 3 years old), as well as ten courses for adults and young people, with heights ranging from 2 to 15 metres. There are also two giant zip lines, each 200 metres long, all secured by a continuous safety line system that ensures the safety of participants.

We do not impose any time limit on tree climbing on our site, so you can enjoy it for the entire duration of the park's opening hours.

The park offers 3 tree climbing courses for children aged 3 to 8, one of which is entirely dedicated to zip lines and reserved for children who are already independent. The two tree climbing routes suitable for young children are located one metre above the ground, which makes it easier for tour leaders to intervene in case of difficulty and allows them to provide continuous assistance to the children during their route. And let's not forget the net labyrinth where the youngest children (from 6 years old) love to get lost!

If you are a beginner and are trying tree climbing for the first time, you can start with easy courses located between 1 and 3 metres above the ground. There are three easy courses: yellow, orange, and green, which you can try as many times as you like before attempting more difficult courses. These three courses are intended for both adults and young children, with a minimum height requirement of 1.10 metres for the yellow and orange courses, and 1.20 metres for the green course.

The four intermediate-level courses are blue, pink, purple, and turquoise, and are intended for those who already have some experience in tree climbing. Positioned 4 to 6 metres above the ground, they require more technique and physical effort than the three easy courses. They are intended for both adults and children; however, a minimum height of 1.30 m (4 ft 3 in) is required.

The difficult courses (red, burgundy, black) are intended for those with advanced experience in tree climbing. These courses are relatively higher, ranging from 8 to 15 metres depending on the course, and are sometimes quite technical. You need to warm up on easier courses before tackling these!
