What you can expect

  • Cruise passengers, don't worry – the tour will always be adapted to your ship's schedule, and we will always return well before departure, so you can enjoy a wonderful, stress-free day!

Let's meet in Fort-de-France to share this day of adventures together in the heart of authentic, unspoiled Martinique.

We will take the legendary Route de la Trace, which cuts through the centre of northern Martinique, passing through the tropical rainforest… This winding little road is a delight for the eyes, surrounded by lush vegetation and tropical flowers.
We'll discover this exuberant flora during a short walk (suitable for all levels) along the river. An immersion in the heart of the lush rainforest, recognised as a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO.
Then we'll head to the “Saut Gendarme” waterfall for a refreshing swim in an idyllic setting!

(At noon, if you would like to have lunch, you can discover our delicious Creole flavours at my partner restaurant, where the warm welcome and traditional cuisine are sure to win you over.)

Head to the iconic Depaz Distillery for a tour and food tasting that will delight your taste buds!
Rum, the iconic drink of the West Indies, will no longer hold any secrets for you!

Then we will talk about the tragic eruption of Mount Pelée, which, on May 8, 1902, completely destroyed Saint-Pierre, our beautiful capital at the time. Visiting these ruins will allow you to appreciate the scale of what was the biggest natural disaster of the century.

We will end this memorable day at a vantage point for your best souvenir photos.

Drop-off at the original departure point in Fort-de-France at around 4:00 PM. (The schedule will be adjusted to match the ship's schedule if you are on a port of call – don't worry!)
