What you can expect

Bird-watchers will simply go crazy here! The Lochinvar National Park of Monze in southern province of Zambia make rewarding destination for bird enthusiasts seeking to delve deeper into Africa’s little known birding areas. In Lochinvar National Park, there is a staggering variety of over 400 bird species and has one of the highest concentration of bird population in Africa. The wattled crane is the crown jewellery of Lochinvar National Park which is easy to spot.

The Chunga Lagoon is the lifeblood of Lochinvar National Park. You will do most of your bird-watching and wildlife viewing activities around this beautiful lagoon.

Game viewing: Though wildlife population in Lochinvar National Park is limited due to human induced activities, you will not miss seeing the Kafue Lechwe, a rare lechwe subspecies. The Chunga Lagoon and the beautiful expanse Kafue Flats provides rich grazing for large herds of Kafue Lechwes.

Walking Safari: You will enjoy walking along the Chunga Lagoon riverine spotting out a variety of bird species.

Boat Cruise Safaris: as an extra activity, you may consider to go for boat cruise safari on the Kafue river and get closer to birds without disturbing them.

History and Cultural tour: For history lovers, the Gwisho Hotsprings, the nearby Sebanzi Hills, Baobab Tree and Drum Rocks all found inside the Lochinvar National Park will not disappoint you.
