Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa – City Discovery
Upon arrival at Bole International Airport, be warmly greeted and transferred to a luxurious 5-star hotel. After time to relax and refresh, begin your introduction to Ethiopia with a guided city tour. Visit the renowned National Museum of Ethiopia, home to the famous fossil “Lucy,” one of the oldest human ancestors ever discovered.
Enjoy lunch at a top local restaurant and explore key highlights of the capital, a vibrant city blending tradition and modern life. In the evening, return to your hotel for dinner and overnight in comfort.
Day 2: Addis Ababa – Bahir Dar – Lake Tana Exploration
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your domestic flight to Bahir Dar. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and relax briefly before heading to the shores of Lake Tana, Ethiopia’s largest lake and the source of the Blue Nile.
Take a scenic boat trip to the historic island monasteries, beautifully decorated with ancient religious paintings. Later, visit the spectacular Blue Nile Falls (seasonal water level permitting). The area is rich in birdlife, including bee-eaters and parrots. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight. Lunch is included.
Day 3: Bahir Dar – Gondar – Royal Castles
After breakfast, drive along the scenic Lake Tana route to Gondar, the former royal capital of Ethiopia. Visit the magnificent castles within the Royal Enclosure, part of the UNESCO-listed Fasil Ghebbi. Built by successive emperors over more than two centuries, these medieval fortresses reflect a unique blend of Ethiopian and European architectural styles.
Enjoy cultural interaction with local communities and discover traditional Ethiopian cuisine and customs. Overnight at your hotel in Gondar. Lunch and dinner included.
Day 4: Simien Mountains National Park – Wildlife & Scenic Trek
After breakfast, drive to the breathtaking Simien Mountains National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its dramatic escarpments, deep valleys, and Afro-alpine vegetation.
Enjoy a guided walk with spectacular panoramic views and excellent wildlife spotting opportunities. You may encounter large troops of Gelada baboons, Bushbucks, Klipspringers, and various endemic bird species. In the afternoon, return to Gondar for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Gondar – Addis Ababa – Departure
After breakfast, transfer to Gondar Airport for your flight back to Addis Ababa. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch at a luxury hotel and relax before your international departure the following day.
