What you can expect

  • Begin your journey with pickup from Ella, Bandarawela, or Haputale. Travel towards the east coast of Sri Lanka on a scenic transfer to Arugam Bay.

    Your first stop is Ravana Waterfall, one of Sri Lanka’s most famous waterfalls surrounded by lush greenery and dramatic mountain scenery. Continue to the peaceful Pallewela Waterfall for another relaxing nature stop.

    Next, visit a local spice garden where you can learn about Sri Lanka’s world-famous spices and Ayurvedic herbs used in local cooking and traditional medicine.

    Continue through the Wellawaya and Buttala regions to visit several important cultural and religious sites. Stop at Yudaganawa Raja Maha Viharaya, a historic Buddhist temple associated with ancient Sri Lankan history and royal kingdoms.

    Then visit the impressive Maligawila Buddha Statue, one of the tallest ancient standing Buddha statues in Sri Lanka, carved from a single limestone rock.

    Travel onward to Magul Maha Viharaya, an ancient temple believed to have connections with King Kavantissa and Sri Lanka’s early Buddhist history.

    Before reaching Arugam Bay, visit Muhudu Maha Viharaya, a beautiful seaside Buddhist temple located close to the eastern coastline. After a full day of sightseeing, continue to Arugam Bay where your journey concludes with hotel drop-off.
