El Viejo Almacen is since 1969 the home of traditional Tango. The most applauded spectacle of tango in the world, recalls the past eras of tango and takes us to the times of the malevos and suburbs in the land where the tango was born… Buenos Aires.
San Telmo, a typical corner in Buenos Aires, has the purest characteristics of the ancient city, not found in any other place.
Going for a walk around its streets, you will notice that the ancient houses have survived the passing of time. Then, you’ll get to the soul of the area, the corner of Balcarce and Independencia, internationally renowned as the the most traditional tango house. A space that maintains the original environment and holds thousands of memories, anecdotes and stories of recognised characters who were seated at their tables in the past.
Thanks to its privileged distribution of a main floor and a ground floor as a U shape balcony with its ancient original railings, the Tanguería allows you to enjoy the mystical and intimate show from every seat.
