Cairngorms Escape: Mountains, Chocolate & Reindeer
Leave Edinburgh behind for a day in the wild heart of the Scottish Highlands. Travel in a premium 16-seat mini-coach through Highland Perthshire and into the breathtaking landscapes of the Cairngorms National Park.
Grandtully & The Highland Chocolatier
Our first stop is the riverside village of Grandtully, set beside the fast-flowing River Tay. Enjoy a peaceful walk by the water, watch the famous Grandtully Rapids, or visit the award-winning Highland Chocolatier for a taste of something special.
The Cairngorm Mountain Experience
Arrive at the foot of the Cairngorm Mountains, where sweeping views, fresh Highland air, and dramatic scenery await. Relax at the Cairngorm café, take in the mountain panoramas, or choose to ride the mountain railway to the Ptarmigan Station for spectacular views from over 1,000 metres above sea level.
Mountain railway tickets are optional and not included in the tour price.
Glenmore & The Reindeer Centre
We then visit the Glenmore area, home to Britain’s only free-ranging reindeer herd. Depending on conditions, your guide may offer a walk to the magical An Lochan Uaine, also known as the Green Loch, famed for its striking emerald waters.
You may also choose to visit the Reindeer Centre paddocks, subject to seasonal availability, or simply enjoy the forest trails and Highland scenery around Glenmore.
Loch Morlich Beach
Before returning to Edinburgh, we stop at beautiful Loch Morlich, where golden sands meet mountain views. It is the perfect place to stretch your legs, take photos, and soak up one last blast of Highland air.
Small Group, Big Highland Scenery
With a maximum of 16 guests, this tour offers a relaxed, personal way to experience the Cairngorms. Expect mountain views, forest trails, local treats, wildlife, and the freedom to shape parts of the day around your interests.
