The ride starts at Solomon's Rocks — Pietrele lui Solomon —
at the edge of Șchei, the oldest Romanian district in Brașov.
Archaeologists found Dacian citadel remains here in 1913.
Every spring, thousands of locals gather at this exact spot
for the Junii Brașovului procession — one of the oldest
living traditions in Transylvania. Most tourists walk past
it on their way to Poiana Brașov without knowing what
they are standing on.
You start here and go up.
The electric bikes handle the elevation. What would take
an hour on foot takes minutes on the trail. The forest
closes in quickly — dense spruce, the sound of the stream
below, the city disappearing behind the first ridge. Your
guide has ridden every trail on these slopes and knows
exactly where the forest opens, where the views arrive,
and where the technical sections begin.
Before departure, your guide talks to the group — experience,
fitness, what you are looking for. The route follows from
that conversation. For riders with sufficient skill and
confidence, Drumed Vechi adds a genuine technical dimension.
For those who want to take it steady, the forest paths
deliver the same altitude and the same views without the
pressure. Nobody is pushed.
SKV Post sits on the ridge — one of the oldest mountain
huts in the Carpathians, built by the Saxon hikers who
mapped these slopes before anyone else did. The stop here
is part of every route. The terrace looks out across the
Bârsa valley and the full arc of the Bucegi range. Food
and drinks are available on site, paid directly.
For riders who want a finish rather than a turnaround,
the Red Trail descent is available at the end — technical
downhill, fast, the best way down from the ridge. Your
guide confirms suitability on the day.
On request, Daisy — a Carpathian mountain dog — joins
the ride. Confirm when we contact you the day before.
