What you can expect

Join a full-day safari tour to an exclusive game reserve and discover the native wildlife in their natural KwaZulu Natal habitat, including the famous Big 5. Travel with a knowledgeable ranger to help you get up close with the fascinating animals that roam the reserve.

Leave Durban early, around 05:00 AM, as the animals, especially the predators, are most active around dawn and dusk. Travel to a 5-star, private game reserve that usually only allows visitors staying in their luxury lodges. Meet your armed ranger, who knows the reserve like the back of his hand. Listen to a briefing on game drive etiquette before you start your 3-hour morning safari.

This tour will focus on finding the big game and to provide close encounters with lion, elephant, wild dogs, hyenas, and the larger herbivores such as buffalo, kudu, and sable to name a few. Your ranger will track predators and big game while keeping tabs on sightings throughout the reserve in order to give you the best chance to be in the right place at the right time.

After the morning game drive its time for lunch as you stretch out your legs and take it all in. Discuss conservation and get a deeper understanding of Africa’s wildlife and ecology.

After lunch, head back into the reserve. Jump back into your open safari 4x4 and embark on another 3-hour game drive in a different part of the reserve. Keep those Zeiss binoculars and safari guide books on hand.

At approximately 3:30 PM we will depart Hluhluwe for Durban and you will be dropped off back your hotel.
