Begin your evening by entering the Ancient City of Dujiangyan from the main southern gate near the Nanshao Bridge. Wander through the cobblestone streets of Xizijie, lined with traditional Sichuan-style wooden buildings and countless red lanterns strung overhead.

Cross the spectacularly lit Nanqiao (South Bridge) and take in the view of the illuminated ancient city. Stroll along the path next to the Min River after crossing Nanqiao. Get a stunning view of the lit-up ancient city walls and the distant lights of the modern city.

Next, dive into the local food scene. Start with a savoury Yóusū Bǐng as a warm-up snack. Explore Xizijie as the lanterns begin to glow and grab a unique Dujiangyan Chunjuan from a stall.

Find a small restaurant for a bowl of Sweet Water Noodles or a mini hot pot. Continue wandering the lantern-lit back streets, perhaps picking up a Lái Bǐngzi for a final savoury treat. End your night with a warm bowl of Jiǔniàng Yuánzi for dessert before heading back.
