Description

Ride the rails down to New York City for a day trip of sightseeing, dining and shopping. A double-decker bus whisks you around town to see the famous sights of the great American metropolis, with plenty of time to check out your favourites, grab lunch at Hard Rock Café, or just hang out in the city.

Get started at South Station in the morning, where an Amtrak regional train carries you out for a ride through the country to New York. With a mid-morning arrival in Penn Station, you're free to enjoy the sights in the heart of Manhattan. Hop on a double-decker bus for a tour that takes you around the island and across the river to Brooklyn, and hop off at any number of stops near the famous museums, observatories, theatres, zoos, boat rides, and more.

Complete with a delicious and entertaining meal at Hard Rock Café, this is your chance to see famous sites such as Central Park, Radio City, the Village, South Street Seaport, and the Statue of Liberty. Head all the way into Brooklyn if you like, and then finish a day of shopping, sightseeing, and dining back at Penn Station for the return trip to Boston.

The bus tour went well enough, being a first time visitor, I got to enjoy the city. I took the Rockefeller center stop and spent the majority of the afternoon in that part of the city. Having to take the train back to Boston at Penn station I decided to give myself plenty of time to catch my train. After waiting for over an hour, I decided to call the tour company to make sure that the tour bus was still running. I was told that a bus would arrive shortly. When I booked the tour, it indicated that buses would run every 20-30 minutes. The bus never arrived and I was forced to take Uber back to Penn station just in time to get on the train. I will NEVER book with this company again!!

Warning to all considering this excursion, don't. We were overcharged for the train ride. And, after spending four hours getting to New York, we find out the tour was cancelled. There's more I could say but it would take too long. In short, you're better off preparing this trip yourself.
