Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Nyerere National Park – Boat Safari
Begin your adventure with a scenic drive from Dar es Salaam to Nyerere National Park, taking about 4–5 hours. Once you arrive and check in at the lodge, have time to freshen up before heading out for an evening boat safari along the Rufiji River.
This peaceful ride offers excellent chances to spot crocodiles, hippos, water birds, and elephants coming down to drink as the sun sets—perfect for setting the tone for the days ahead.
Day 2: Full Day Game Drive in Nyerere National Park
After breakfast, set out on a full-day game drive through the vast and varied landscapes of Nyerere. With your knowledgeable guide, explore remote areas of the park, tracking elephants, lions, giraffes, buffalos, zebras, and more.
The park’s open plains, woodlands, and riverbanks make it a prime spot for spotting predators and birdlife alike. Lunch will be served picnic-style in the bush before continuing with the afternoon drive.
Day 3: Another Full Day Guided Game Drive
Another exciting day awaits as you continue your exploration of Nyerere’s rich ecosystem. This second full-day game drive allows you to visit different areas of the park and increases your chances of witnessing rare species such as African wild dogs.
Whether you’re into big cats, birdwatching, or simply soaking in the raw beauty of nature, the day promises plenty of highlights and surprises.
Day 4: Full Day Guided Game Drive
On this third full day of wildlife viewing, cover more ground with extended game drives in lesser-explored corners of the park. It’s a great opportunity for more photography, bird spotting, or searching for any species you may have missed earlier.
As always, your guide will customise the route to maximise sightings and enhance your safari experience before you return to your lodge for a final dinner in the bush.
Day 5: Morning Walking Safari – Return to Dar es Salaam
Your last day begins with something special—a guided walking safari at sunrise. Accompanied by an armed ranger, this up-close bush experience offers insight into the smaller creatures, animal tracks, and plant life that are often overlooked.
After breakfast back at the lodge, pack your things and begin the journey back to Dar es Salaam, carrying with you unforgettable memories of Tanzania’s southern wilderness.
