What you can expect
Day 1:
We leave Cusco very early in the morning Time: 5:30 - 6:00 a.m. Pick up from the hotel by bus. On the way we visited the funerary towers or Chullpas of Ninamarca at 3750 metres above sea level and a brief visit to Paucartambo, a folkloric town, a colonial bridge. We ascend to the upper area of Paucartambo. Acjanaco is the highest point at 4000 metres above sea level. Then we descend through the mysterious cloud forest, which is home to a great variety of flora and fauna full of beautiful orchids, heliconias and primitive ferns. We take a walk to appreciate the Cock of the Rocks in the mating ritual, there is the possibility of observing Trogons, Quetzales, the spectacled bear. In the afternoon we will arrive at our HOSTEL, in Pilcopata (550 metres above sea level) in our typical hostel in the area.
Day 2:
PILCOPATA – ATALAYA – BOCA MANU.- After breakfast we continue our trip 45 minutes by bus to the port of Atalaya, we see plantations of fruit trees and ORCHIDS, we embark on a boat along the upper Madre de Dios River. On the way we can see a great variety of birds, herons, kingfishers, vultures, the Jaguar (Pantera Onca) and we also have a stop in natural hot waters to take medicinal baths. In the afternoon we arrive at the village of Boca Manu (280 metres above sea level) where we have accommodation. Typical hostel.
Day 03: BOCA MANU – COCHA OTORONGO RESERVED AREA.- After breakfast we enter the reserve area where we will have a greater opportunity to observe the biodiversity. Short stop (LIMONAL SURVEILLANCE POST). The boat trip continues. On the banks of the river you can see groups of turtles, white caimans, ronsocos and many more. In the afternoon we arrive at our safari camp in Cocha Otorongo or Matchiguenka house (250 metres above sea level) shortly after we organise a walk to visit the lake and the 30-meter observation tower from where we have the opportunity to observe the river otters.
DAY 04: COCHA OTORONGO-COCHA SALVADOR. RESERVED AREA- Today visit Cocha Salvador which is located 30 minutes from Cocha Otorongo. They explore walking within the virgin primary forest. We visit the cocha on a catamaran to observe the river wolves again and a great variety of strange birds, and different species of monkeys
DAY 05: COCHA OTORONGO RESERVED AREA – BOCA – MANU.- Very early in the morning, the group will visit the macaw clay lick located in the Salvadorcillo ravine, then we return along the MANU River OBSERVING THE BIODIVERSITY TO BOCA MANU. NIGHT IN HOSTEL.
DAY 06: BOCA MANU – PAITITI LODGE.- We continue back by boat along the Alto Madre de Dios River. On the way we again have the option of seeing many birds. In the afternoon we arrive at our Paititi lodge.
DAY 07: PAITITI LODGE - CUSCO.- Depart the jungle and return by boat to Atalaya, then we will travel by bus to Cusco on the way we will be able to observe the Cloud Forest again, we arrived 5:30 to 6:00 PM to Cusco.
