The grim history of Monroe Park that lies hidden under the well-tended landscape of today, a hospital-turned-student dorm that still houses the spirits of long-departed patients, the ghosts of a landmark theatre, and more…

Your Guide will share with you the history of the area, and how it relates to the tales of the mysterious and tragic things that have led to numerous reports of paranormal activity along the tour route.

Activity itinerary

Monroe Park

Today it is the cornerstone of the Virginia Commonwealth University Monroe Park campus. Over the last couple of centuries this space has seen many uses, including as a parade ground and a Confederate military hospital. It harbours tales of murders and curses that hide under the leisure activities that take place in the modern day. You will also hear tales from some of the surrounding dormitories that overlook the park.

Hear haunting tales about the one time home of a Richmond industrial great, now the Office of the Provost for Virginia Commonwealth University.

Scott House

An architectural gem, the beautiful veneers of this home shelter creepy legends that are still whispered about on campus to this day. Today it serves as meeting and event space for Virginia Commonwealth University.
