What you can expect

Start your tour at the Calahorra Tower which is on the southern side of the bridge known as Puente Romano. The purpose of this fortified tower was to protect the bridge. The building has been used for various purposes in its historical past while it currently houses a museum.

Walk on the Puente Romano (Roman arch bridge) which dates back to the starting of 1st century BC and spans across the Guadalquivir river. It is believed to have been built on a site of a previous wooden bridge, and reconstructed by the Arabs in the 8th century. Latest conservation efforts led to the restoration of this bridge in 2008.

Next, you will be visiting the fortress located in the historic centre of Cordoba known as the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos which served as one of the primary residences of the Queen of Castile and the King of Aragon. Here, you will see courtyards and impressive gardens and Spanish-Gothic architecture. The construction dates back to 1328 AD.

Continue on to visit the Mezquita of Cordoba, the Mosque-Cathedral. It is a world heritage site where you will find architecture that varies from Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque styles. Here, you will see the bell tower which was previously a minaret, the mihrab with fine artworks, beautiful ceilings and courtyards and noticeably column and double tiered arches.

Visit the narrow street known as Calleja de las Flores, which is a very popular tourist attraction. Along the way, you will see residential houses with beautiful flowers and the view of the Mezquita of Cordoba in between, making it a picturesque spot.

Located in the Jewish Quarter, you will be visiting the Cordoba Synagogue which is a famous landmark and a world heritage site located in the historic centre forming part of the city’s rich cultural heritage. It was built during the early 15th century, here you will find ataurique art-works. Finish your tour by exploring the Juderia de Cordoba (Jewish Quarter).
