Overview

  • The tour starts in the centre of Guanajuato and heads towards the Cerro del Cubilete, where the Christ the King Monument is located. During the journey, visitors can admire the beautiful view of the region and learn more about the local history and culture.

    Once at the top of Cerro del Cubilete, tourists will have the opportunity to explore the church of the Sanctuary of Christ the King, one of the most sacred and visited places by the Catholic population of Mexico.

    Continuing the experience, we will also visit the largest Rosary in the world (important: access to the Rosary is subject to the venue's availability and may remain closed in case of special events or seminars).

    Later, the tour heads to the typical food area on the slopes of Cerro del Cubilete, where visitors can enjoy delicious local food and learn more about the region's rich gastronomic tradition.

The sanctuary was built in the 1950s and is an example of the modern architectural style of the time. The church has a cross-shaped structure, and its roof is a white dome that resembles Jesus' crown of thorns. Inside, there is a series of stained glass windows depicting the life of Christ. The Sanctuary of Christ the King is an important pilgrimage site for Mexican Catholics, who climb Cerro del Cubilete to venerate the statue of Christ the King and visit the church at the base of the hill. Furthermore, it is a popular tourist spot due to its unique architecture and its location in an impressive natural landscape.
