Built in 1996, the Crown Escalator is 112 metres long with a vertical rise of about 52 metres. Slowly moving through the enclosed passage, it reveals Chongqing not at once, but layer by layer.

Tongyuanju Residential District (Pass by)

Glide past the Sujiaba Overpass, a masterpiece of Chongqing’s layered engineering. With roads weaving above and below like ribbons in the air, it’s a true showcase of the city’s “mountain maze” design.
