Day 1: Arrival and Giant Pandas

Meet your private driver and English-speaking guide at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport (TFU) arrivals hall, holding a sign with your name.

Your first destination is the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, located about 10 kilometres north of city centre. This world-renowned facility simulates the wild living environment of giant pandas, with lakes, streams, bamboo groves, and lawns. Morning is the best time to visit when pandas are most active.

Next, head to the century-old Hemin Teahouse, one of Chengdu's oldest and most iconic teahouses, founded in 1923. At this outdoor lakeside teahouse, order a cup of traditional “gaiwan cha“ (lidded bowl tea) and relax among locals sipping tea, playing mahjong, and chatting away. After a full day of exploration, your private vehicle will take you to your hotel for a comfortable evening.

Day 2: Ancient Chengdu

After breakfast, your guide and driver will pick you up for a journey into Chengdu’s ancient past. Start at the Jinsha Site Museum, an archaeological museum built on the original Jinsha site, a major discovery of the ancient Shu civilisation that dates back over 3,000 years.

Next, travel to the Wuhou Shrine Museum, a temple dedicated to the heroes of the Three Kingdoms period, including Emperor Liu Bei and Prime Minister Zhuge Liang — one of the few temples in China where a ruler and his minister are worshipped together.

Adjacent to Wuhou Shrine lies Jinli Ancient Street, a bustling pedestrian street rebuilt in the style of the Three Kingdoms period. Here you can wander through traditional Sichuan architecture, shop for handicrafts, watch folk artisans at work, and sample local snacks such as spicy rabbit heads, dumplings, and sweet rice cakes.

Day 3: Dujiangyan and Departure

After hotel checkout, your guide and driver will take you on an approximately 60—90 minute drive to Dujiangyan, one of the world‘s oldest and still-functioning irrigation systems, built in 256 BC by Li Bing, the governor of Shu State during the Qin Dynasty. Walk across the Anlan Suspension Bridge for panoramic views of the Minjiang River, explore the Erwang Temple dedicated to Li Bing and his son, and see ancient inscriptions documenting the system‘s history.

After exploring Dujiangyan, take a short walk to Guanxian Ancient Town. This historic old town, which was the former name of Dujiangyan City before 1988, features traditional Ming and Qing architecture, ancient streets, tea houses, and local restaurants. This is a perfect place to have lunch and experience local life before heading to the airport.

As your journey concludes, your private driver will take you directly to Chengdu Tianfu International Airport (TFU) for your departure flight.
