Symbol of the royal power, Pierrefonds was initially built as an advantage to take control of trade between Flanders and Burgundy. It became a museum in 1867, as the project of Viollet-le-Duc to turn it as an imperial residence had never been completed. Enjoy your visit to the monument, famous for the "Recumbent Statues Bal" scenography. This place invite to a magical walk in the tunnels of the monument. Start your discovery in the park to admire the eight towers, go the courtyard for a lesson in architecture, and pass by the chapel for a look of Viollet-le-Duc gallery.
