Step into the living history of the American South with entry to Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens, one of Charleston’s most iconic and enduring estates. Founded in 1681, Boone Hall offers a unique window into centuries of Lowcountry heritage, from its stately Avenue of Oaks to its immersive cultural presentations. Your general admission ticket grants you access to a full day of discovery across the plantation’s historic grounds and beautifully preserved buildings.

Begin your visit by strolling the breathtaking Avenue of Oaks, where massive, moss-draped live oaks form a natural corridor that has welcomed guests for over two centuries. Explore the new Gin House visitor centre and museum, and browse the gift shop for local crafts and souvenirs. Join a guided wagon tour (weather permitting) to see the full expanse of the property, including fields, marsh views, and wildlife habitats. Delve into the region’s rich African American heritage with the live “Exploring The Gullah Culture” presentations, offered at scheduled times throughout the week, each presenter sharing personal stories, songs, and traditions rooted in West African ancestry.

Continue your journey with a guided tour of the plantation home’s ground floor, where you’ll learn about the influential Boone family and their role in South Carolina’s history. Visit the Black History In America Exhibit, housed in nine original slave cabins, and attend outdoor history talks that provide context to the exhibits inside. Wander through the formal gardens, a showcase of seasonal colour and Southern horticulture, and enjoy the new stable tours for a glimpse into the estate’s equestrian past. Take time to relax and soak in the peaceful surroundings, with opportunities to visit the Boone Hall Farms Roadside Produce Stand (seasonal) for fresh fruits, vegetables, eggs, and local honey.

Your visit concludes at your leisure, allowing you to revisit favourite spots or continue exploring Charleston’s nearby attractions. Boone Hall is open rain or shine, ensuring a memorable experience in any season.
