What you can expect

At 90 minutes from Geneva, discover the typical alpine village of Chamonix. At the foot of the highest mountain of Europe you might feel small. Once in Chamonix board for the mountain train of the Montenvers, enjoy the ride until the larger glacier of France: La Mer de Glace (The Ice sea).

Once arrive you can enjoy the panorama on the glacier and you can also go down the the Ice Cave: The tour of the “Grotte de glace” (Ice Cave) takes visitors into the very heart of the glacier. Re-sculpted every year, it describes the life of mountain people in the early 19th century. It can be entered either by a walk of around 20 minutes on a footpath, or by gondola lift. NB: There are about 480 steps from the arrival of the gondola lift to the entrance to the cave.

After you visit take the train back to the village and enjoy your free time scrolling the charming little streets of Chamonix.

Please note that the Ice Cave close 1 month / year for reconstruction
