What you can expect

Leave Geneva behind and journey through some of the world's most picturesque scenery as you drive across the France–Switzerland border to the stunning Alpine village of Chamonix. Situated at the foot of Europe's tallest peak, the town oozes style and has attractions to keep you busy for hours.

During the 90-minute drive, enjoy views of the Arve river and small villages that dot the scenery before you reach the world-famous Chamonix-Mont-Blanc resort. Here, you are free to explore at your own pace. Stroll around the beautiful town and snap some photos of the dramatic snowcapped peak of Mont Blanc that dominates the skyline.

Stop for lunch in one of the traditional cafés and perhaps sample the famous regional speciality—cheese fondue—before exploring the area's attractions. The choice is yours—maybe you have a head for heights; if so, take the cable car up to Aiguille du Midi, where the views are sure to blow your socks off.

If heights aren't necessarily your thing, perhaps pay a visit to the Mer de Glace, France's largest glacier, via the traditional Montenvers Railway. The day is yours to do as you please and your return transport brings you back to Geneva by early evening.
