What you can expect

  • Walk through the gates of one of Sicily's most fascinating medieval castles and experience a journey through centuries of history, passion and mystery. La Grua Talamanca Castle in Carini, built in the 12th century and made famous by the legend of the Baroness of Carini, today combines heritage and technology for an engaging visit.

    This admission ticket allows you to enter and visit the castle independently, at your own pace: this is not a guided tour. You can explore 34 furnished rooms and access 4 terraces (Bastion, Guard Terrace, Attic Terrace and Garden Terrace), with panoramic views of the Gulf of Carini and Mount Calogero.

    During the visit, the storey comes to life thanks to two elements included:

    Audio guide with QR code available in Italian, English, French, Spanish, German and Japanese, with a version also in LIS (Italian Sign Language).
    7 holograms of historical figures from the castle (with audio in Italian, English, French and Spanish), who recount events and stories related to these places, intertwining history, myth and memory.
    The castle is managed by a local cultural association, with knowledgeable and passionate staff, and is conveniently located about 20 minutes from Palermo.

    Opening times: daily 9:00 AM–1:00 PM and 3:00 PM–6:00 PM (last entry one hour before: 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM). Tickets with QR codes are sent by email from the local partner the day before your visit.
