Flavours of Budapest was created to give guests the opportunity to cook, taste traditional Hungarian food and discover Hungarian culture in a personal setting. This unique 4-hour culinary experience takes place in my cosy studio apartment in the heart of Budapest, in a small group.
Hungarians have a love for cooking and eating great food. When meals are being prepared, the kitchen is full of life: someone is chopping onions, someone else is preparing the meat or kneading dough. The pots are bubbling, the kitchen is filled with talking and laughter.
During this hands-on cooking class, we prepare a full Hungarian 3-course menu together. You can taste Hungarian Bites and typical local ingredients during the cooking, enjoy Hungarian wine and learn about Hungarian cuisine, traditions, customs and everyday life.
You will choose one of three traditional Hungarian menus, featuring dishes such as Goulash soup, Chicken Paprikas with dumplings, Stuffed Cabbage, Hortobágyi-style savoury pancakes, Apple Strudel and other Hungarian favourites.
At the end of the cooking, we sit down together and enjoy the meal we have prepared. You will also receive the recipes so you can recreate your favourite Hungarian dishes at home.
