Description

The imposing Buda Castle overlooks the city from its elevated position atop Castle Hill. See some of the major landmarks of this charming, historic district. Stroll through cobbled alleys, take in panoramic views from Fisherman’s Bastion and enjoy a relaxing coffee and pastry break in a cosy café.

Embark on a leisurely walking tour with a knowledgeable, local guide who tells you intriguing stories and introduces you to the sometimes turbulent history of this enchanting district. Meander through narrow streets lined with colourful houses, the grand Royal Palace and the official residence of the country’s president, Sandor Palace.

Arrive to the hub of Castle District at the Holy Trinity Square and visit the meticulously restored gothic interiors of Matthias Church, one of the city’s best-known landmarks. Take a relaxing break in a cosy café and sip a cup of coffee while nibbling on fresh pastries.

The precious white stone structure of the Fisherman’s Bastion provides one of the best vantage points in Budapest. Very in-depth history lesson. We are use to a more moving and talking tour this was more of a standing in one spot and listening. There was no mic for the guide so at times it was hard to concentrate but she did her best to talk over the distractions.
