What you can expect

Discover 10 to 12 of the most stunning architectural masterpieces from the fleeting fairytale of the Belle Époque on an unforgettable walking tour with a private guide.
Admire the splendid creations of the world-renowned architect Victor Horta, along with magnificent homes designed by lesser-known yet equally gifted architects.
Meet your guide, Eric, a true Art Nouveau enthusiast who knows Brussels like the back of his hand. Unlike generalist guides reading from a script, Eric will share his passionate knowledge of Art Nouveau, from the birth of this extraordinary movement to its spread across Europe and beyond. He will help you understand how this revolutionary style forever changed the history of architecture.
The tour begins in the historic centre of Brussels, rich with world-famous treasures, before heading to lesser-known districts. There, you will discover other stunning buildings and hidden gems unknown to most visitors, but also streets lined by small and grand Art Nouveau pearls brought to life through Eric’s expert eye.
As you journey through Brussels, Ixelles, and Saint-Gilles, you will encounter breathtaking houses that bear witness to a time when creativity seemed limitless and Art Nouveau architects pushed the boundaries of imagination. Some of these jewels remain unchanged since their construction, others have been beautifully restored, and some display the gentle patina of more than a century of history—but all stand as remarkable witnesses of a magical era.
Several Horta houses listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites are included in the tour. Eric will also reveal lesser-known gems along the way, each with fascinating stories that bring them vividly to life.
By the end of this tour, not only will you have stars in your eyes after seeing such fabulous things, but you will also have learnt more about the different trends in Art Nouveau, learnt to distinguish between Art Nouveau and Art Deco, and even seen examples of all of them!
If you wish, the walk can conclude with a meal (not included) in an authentic Art Nouveau restaurant, where the enchanting décor has remained virtually untouched for over a century.
This tour is designed to give you the very best overview of the Art Nouveau style in Brussels, but it can also be tailored to include additional buildings or areas of particular interest. Simply let Eric know your preferences.
