Why settle for a paper guidebook when you can explore the city with someone who lives here? Join our 2.5 to 3-hour tour of the “Beauty of the Danube.” We've designed this tour to be the perfect blend of must-see landmarks and those hidden gems you won't find on Google.
Your local guide—who knows Bratislava like the back of their hand—will lead you through the medieval gates to the heart of the Old Town. You’ll walk the same route as the Hungarian kings, discover why there’s a cannonball embedded in a building façade, and meet our most famous neighbour, Čumil (the “Peeping Tom”). Whether you're 8 or 80, whether you love history or are just looking for the perfect photo, we promise you a lively, fun, and authentic tour of life in Bratislava.
Trip Itinerary:
– Capuchin Church (Start): Meet at the Plague Column. Why doesn't this church have a tower? (Spoiler: The friars were humble… or practical!)
– Castle and Church of the Good Shepherd: A glimpse of Europe's narrowest Rococo building before a short climb for the best photo of the “UFO Bridge.”
– Synagogue Memorial: Remembering the lost area and the “hidden” history under the bridge.
– St. Martin's Cathedral and Coronation Route: Stand on the spot where 19 kings were crowned. We begin to follow the golden crowns on the ground.
– Istropolitana Academy and Church of the Poor Clares: The first university and the church with a tower that “floats” without foundations.
– Michael's Gate and Witches' Hill: We'll pass through the last medieval gate. This is where Bratislava's last “witch ” met her bitter end.
– Main Square (Hlavné námestie): Say hello to Schöne Náci and the Napoleonic soldier. Admire the Kormuth Pastry Shop and the Old Town Hall.
– Primate's Square: The Pink Palace, where Napoleon signed the peace treaty. We’ll review the history of the city’s 4 gates.
– Čumil (The Peeping Tom): A must-have photo with the most famous man emerging from a manhole.
– SNP Square (Velvet Revolution): Where the history of freedom was written in 1989.
– The Blue Church (End of the storey): A 10-minute walk to the church that looks like it's made of sugar.
– Coronation Hill (Ľ. Štúr Square): Ľ. Štúra): We end our tour by the Danube, where kings swore allegiance to their people.
