Bran Castle

Built in 1388 as a fortress guarding the mountain pass between Transylvania and Wallachia, Bran Castle became famous through the Dracula legend. Although its connection to Vlad the Impaler is limited, its medieval architecture and dramatic hilltop setting make it Romania’s most visited castle.

Peles Castle (Sinaia)

Built between 1873 and 1914 as the summer residence of King Carol I, Peles Castle is one of Europe’s most impressive royal residences. It was the first European castle fully powered by electricity and features over 160 richly decorated rooms.
