Immerse yourself in the culinary traditions of Bologna with a cooking class at a local sfoglina’s home. Join a traditional pasta maker in her charming home, beautifully located near the Reno River, where you can admire the scenic canals and the rolling Bolognese hills.
The house is nestled within a large, private garden—the perfect setting for dining al fresco during the warmer months. Located just 20 minutes from Bologna city centre, you can easily reach the home by bus, train (to the Casalecchio di Reno Garibaldi station), or taxi.
To ensure an intimate and personalised experience, classes are kept small (maximum of 8 guests). Each participant will have their own wooden rolling board to make fresh pasta completely from scratch. Learn the art of rolling out the dough using both the traditional wooden rolling pin (mattarello) and classic pasta machines.
Prepare a delicious bis (a duo) of fresh pasta: Tagliatelle and stuffed Tortelloni. The pasta will be served with freshly prepared meat and vegetarian sauces. (Please note: this experience cannot accommodate vegan diets as the pasta dough requires eggs).
For the grand finale, whip up authentic Gelato Artigianale together, learning the secrets to a perfect Italian scoop.
Once the cooking is done, it’s time to relax and enjoy the fruits of your labour. Start with an starter of aged Parmigiano Reggiano DOP drizzled with authentic Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena DOP.
Then, enjoy the duo of fresh pasta you prepared. Finish with freshly made artisanal gelato, elegantly dressed with local Amarene (sour cherries) in syrup and premium Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena, aged for over 25 years. Finish with coffee and a local digestif.
