Known as the world's strongest tidal current, Saltstraumen is at its strongest four times a day, reaching speeds of up to 40 kilometres per hour. Saltstraumen is home to a diverse range of wildlife, above and below water, as cod, pollack and halibut swim, white-tailed eagles can be seen in the sky above, and eiders dive into the animal kingdom.
