Overview

Embark on a guided tour to discover one of the most fascinating places in Abruzzo: Rocca Calascio, an ancient castle overlooking the Navelli plateau and the Tirino valley. Located within the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park, at over 1,460 metres above sea level, it is considered the highest fortification in the Apennines.
In 2019, National Geographic listed the Rocca as one of the 15 most beautiful castles in the world; one glance is enough to understand why: its ramparts stand out against a clear sky, surrounded by unspoilt natural scenery.
