What you can expect

  • Join a fun and flavourful workshop in Berlin and make kimchi from scratch. Whether you're new to fermentation or already a fan, this session will guide you through the entire kimchi-making process — from preparing the vegetables and mixing the paste to packing your own jars to take home.

Begin with a round of introductions and then roll your sleeves up to chop and salt the cabbage, make the paste, and chop other vegetables. Once that's done, take a little break to taste different kinds of kimchi along with a Korean-style snack.

Chat about fermentation, including the cultural roots of kimchi and other Asian traditions of fermenting vegetables. With your batteries recharged, finish by coating the cabbage with the kimchi paste, adding special ingredients and flavours if you wish, and stuffing your kimchi in jars to take home.
