What you can expect

When the financial markets collapse in Asia, no one suspects a connection to the new computer of a family from Berlin-Wilmersdorf. However, heating installer Timo Steppanski is surprised when he suddenly sees 2 trillion euros credited to his private account. The good news spreads like wildfire among friends and neighbours. What to do with so much money?

Instead of treating himself to a camper and helping distant relatives, Steppanski has a grand vision: he anonymously relieves the German state of its debt through a donation. The sensation is enormous, and so is the joy. But unfortunately, it doesn't last. Prosperity for all poses challenges for the German soul. Is the German suited to wade knee-deep through happiness?

Soon, experts suspect a terrorist attack on the Western value system behind the well-intentioned gesture. As a result, the Steppanskis come under the scrutiny of the B.K.A, the German government, and the Chinese secret service. Gradually, those in charge realise: Germany as a debt location is in danger. Xi Jinping wants to invade Rügen. Steppanski must go…

Gutes Geld is a fast-paced satire about money and politics, global financial flows, and Berlin sensibilities. With eccentric neighbours, helpless police officers, and panicked politicians.
