Great Wall at Mutianyu section is the most popular one for foreigners, it is ranked No.1 on TripAdvisor. Tourists can take cable car, chairlift or slide down. It’s super entertaining. But during Chinese public holidays and summer holidays for students, it’s not the best choice anymore, as it is super crowded and the traffic is so bad. You will be trapped in the traffic for hours and waste around 2-3 hours for queuing for shuttle bus, cable car, chairlift or slide down during the hottest period of Beijing.

Great Wall at Wild Badaling section. You have to know that it is different from the Badaling section which is the most touristy section Wall in China. This section is developed far later than other sections. It is preserved and renovated in the original looks. This section is hidden in the valleys where you can escape from the hot summer. This section is also a bit closer to Beijing city centre.

Great Wall at Huang Hua Cheng section. It is also very entertaining. It is located in valleys and surrounded by lake. You can climb the wall and also can rent a boat to view the Great Wall on it. It’s a unique experience. Good choice for families with kids during summer holidays.This section is also closer to city centre Beijing.
