Know before you book

    • Children 2 and younger are complimentary.
    • The boat ride is approximately 2.5 hours each way. You will have 2 hours of free time at Bear Mountain.
    • Picnic lunches available and can be ordered up until 3:00 PM the Wednesday prior to your cruise
    • You must be able to walk on unpaved or uneven terrain. Hiking shoes are recommended
    • Check-in is 45 minutes prior to the booked tour start time.
    • No outside food or drinks are allowed. Food and drinks are available for purchase on board.
    • Please note that New York State law prohibits the sale of alcohol on Sundays before 10am.
    • There is a steep hillside trail leading from the dock at Bear Mountain to the main park area. This hill may be difficult for some people to climb, including those with difficulty walking or in wheelchairs. The climb becomes more difficult during inclement weather.
    • Bear Mountain Cruise runs on Saturdays and Sundays from September 30th - November 12th and including Monday October 9th (Indigenous Peoples Day).
    • In accordance with EU regulations about consumer rights, activities services are not subject to the right of withdrawal. Supplier cancellation policy will apply.

What you can expect

  • Take a fifty-mile cruise up the Hudson River to Bear Mountain State Park while enjoying autumnal sights and Oktoberfest-themed experience, including German food specials, Oktoberfest beers (available for purchase) and a German Polka band.

    Our huge, outdoor decks are perfect for getting some fall sun, fresh air and 360-degree views.

    Cruise under two of the most impressive bridges in New York State, the mighty George Washington Bridge and the modern Mario Cuomo Bridge, aka Tappan Zee Bridge. You'll pass Hook Mountain, which rises to nearly 800 feet straight up from the Hudson River with sheer cliffs, covered in bright autumn foliage, surrounded by ravens, hawks, ospreys and the occasional Bald Eagle before arriving at Bear Mountain. Once you're there you'll be able to get out, hike around for two hours, enjoying the Bear Mountain lake and many trails. Please note that there is no Oktoberfest event at Bear Mountain this year.
