Located within a former 17th-century convent, our museum allows you to explore the history of medieval fortified towns called “bastides”. Discover their history through one of the finest examples found in the South-West of France: Monpazier. Our immersive experience gives insight on the village's history through interviews with historians and archaeologists. You can also discover how Monpazier has evolved over the centuries, using interactive tools such as a 3D reconstruction of the bastide.
Over 40 vintage games, build by a local company, are available for adults and children in the museum and the medieval-inspired garden. Children can also enjoy a game booklet to discover life in the Middle Ages in a fun way. A new temporary exhibition is created every year.
