Know Before You Book
Children 17 and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
You must be 8 years or older.
You must weigh less than 230 pounds (104 kg).
If you have back, neck, joint, or muscular problems, you should carefully consider whether to participate.
Weather conditions determine whether activity takes place.
Check-in is 30 minutes prior to the booked tour start time.
Riders must be physically capable of controlling the horse during the ride without assistance and for the health and safety of all riders regrettably any disabilities or special needs riders cannot be accommodated.
Adults must sign a waiver for all activities, and a waiver must also be completed by the parent or legal guardian of any person under the age of 18 (documentation may be required to confirm the signatory’s authority).
All guest are required to wear a mask when checking in for their ride or when using the facilities.
What you can expect
Experience the beauty of Banff National Park from a saddle on this horseback ride through your choice of trails departing from stables close to city centre Banff.
Whether you're a novice rider or advanced, there's a friendly horse to fit your needs. Riding instructions are given on site and you're free to ask your guide any questions. While on the trail, lead and trail riders are there to assist you and provide their own insight into the magnificent natural surroundings.
An experienced photographer is also on hand to snap your picture as you mount your horse and head out on the trail. These photographs are available for purchase upon your return.
Bow River Ride (1 hour): Pass the natural mineral springs that flow from the historic Cave and Basin area. Your trail then loops around a marsh and follows the Bow River back to the stables.
Sundance Loop Ride (2 hours): Follow the Bow River trail and then head up Sulphur Mountain and around the Windy Knoll viewpoint. Snap pictures of the dazzling Canadian Rocky Mountains as you climb before looping back around the marsh.
Sulphur Mountain Ride (4 hours): From snow-capped mountains and sparkling waterfalls to roaring rivers and thick alpine forests, this trip takes you from the bustling Banff town-site. You'll past Bow Falls, cross the Spray River, and climb two thirds of the way up Sulphur Mountain along wooded trails. During your trip you will stop for a small snack break before continung along the trail. On the descent you’ll ride along the base of Mount Rundle to the Bow Falls and cross the Spray River once more.
