Start your day with a hotel pick-up in Bali and head to the stunning Tumpak Sewu waterfall on a private day trip. Discover lush landscapes and breathtaking cascades as you trek through the natural beauty of this hidden gem.
Tumpak Sewu waterfall is becoming famous as one of the most amazing waterfalls in East Java, and it may even be the coolest waterfall in all of Indonesia and Southeast Asia. This thing is called a waterfall, but it’s more like a thousand waterfalls put together, which is why the name loosely translated from the local Java language means ‘many waterfalls.
The best lighting for this is early in the morning before the sun gets high, otherwise taking the right photos can be more of a challenge. Drive to the Mount Bromo area, with a lunch stop along the way. On arrival, check in at the hotel.
Very early in the morning, head to the rim of the Tengger caldera. Marvel at the panoramic views at sunrise with the active Mount Semeru volcano in the background. Continue to Mount Bromo. Take a short walk and climb the 240 stairs to the peak.
After breakfast back at the hotel, drive to Banyuwangi. Driving to Licin village and drive through a rainforest of giant ferns and trees on the slopes of Mount Ijen. From there, you will enjoy the stunning blue fire, burning Sulphur that spews blue light in the dark.
When the sunrises, rest on the edge of the crater at an altitude of 2386 metres and enjoy the best panorama of the world’s largest acidic lake with its magnificent turquoise coloured water. Get a panoramic view of the sulphur lake and surrounding landscape in the first light of day.
Then, return to the base of the mountain to enjoy breakfast at a local restaurant before the drive back to Bali.
