What you can expect

  • About Belimbing & Trekking Opportunities

Belimbing Village in Tabanan offers a unique, off-the-beaten-path trekking experience through lush rice terraces, plantations, forests, waterfalls, and traditional villages. With guide-led 4–5 hour treks, cultural insights, and refreshing nature, it's ideal for travellers seeking tranquility and authenticity in Bali.

Belimbing is a scenic tourism village nestled around 500–600 m above sea level, at the foothills of Mount Batukaru in Pupuan, Tabanan Regency. The terrain resembles a star fruit (“belimbing”) due to its rolling slopes, valleys, and lush rice terraces spread across approximately 360 hectares .

    Trekking here offers:

A peaceful escape from crowds—far quieter than Tegallalang or Jatiluwih rice terraces .

Views of traditional Balinese farming using the Subak irrigation system, local plantations (coffee, coconut, mangosteen), and working rice fields .

Stops at spiritual highlights like Mekori Temple surrounded by a monkey forest, plus two hidden waterfalls: Sade (Benben) .

Trek Overview: Typical Routes & Experience

A typical trekking itinerary (around 4–5 hours) offered by local guides includes:

    • Pickup early morning from Bali hubs (Ubud, Sanur, Kuta, etc.).

    • A visit to a local village .
    • A route from Mekori Temple, through rice terraces, coffee/clove plantations, bamboo forests, streams, and valleys.
    • Get the lunch with gorgeous rice terraces view , then return transport .
    • Difficulty: Medium (some uphill, uneven terrain) — requires reasonable fitness. Not recommended for young children .

    Details:
Duration: ~4–5 hours trekking + drive (2.5 h from main Bali areas)

    Logistics & Best Timing

Roughly 2 hours from Denpasar, or 1.5 hours from Ubud by car or motorbike—no public transport directly to village .
