An activity that leads you to discover an ancient and precious art, preserved in the only hand-weaving workshop in Irpinia, where tradition and territory are deeply intertwined.
The handcrafted weaving experience begins in the artisan workshop of Jessica, a young master weaver and guardian of a knowledge passed down through generations. She will guide you on a 1-hour walking tour through the narrow streets of Bisaccia Vecchia, sharing stories about the strong bond between the village, local traditions, and artisanal weaving.
Back in the workshop, you will have the opportunity to closely observe an ancient pedal-powered manual loom and, when possible, watch a live demonstration to understand the gestures and rhythms of an art unchanged over time.
You will then take part in a weaving workshop on a frame loom, guided step by step by the master weaver. You will create a small decorative tapestry, a true handmade textile artwork made with natural fibres and dried flowers.
