What you can expect

The most classic tour you can take starting from Assisi is definitely this one, from Assisi to Spello via the famous Via degli Ulivi.

Leaving Assisi and shortly after the village of San Vitale, you will be surrounded by olive trees that will accompany you to Spello, the pearl of Umbria. At first you can enjoy the panoramic view of the town from the Via degli Ulivi and then immerse yourself in its characteristic alleys.

There will be no shortage of points of interest, whether you choose to visit the Baglioni Chapel, frescoed by Pinturicchio, or return to ancient Rome by visiting the Villa dei Mosaici, or simply enjoy a coffee or an ice cream in front of the imposing consular gate.
You will return to Assisi along quiet back roads, passing by the Sanctuary of the Sacred Tugurio of Rivotorto and the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli.

Before returning, savour the best Umbrian white and red wines with bruschetta and organic olive oil. As you return to Assisi on this leisurely ride, take in the views along the panoramic road Via Degli Ulivi overlooking rows of olive trees and the valley.
