How to Get to the Riva Building from Kawaguchi Station (4 minutes on foot)(3-9-11 Sakae-cho, Kawaguchi-city) 1. Exit from the East Exit of Kawaguchi Station. When you step outside, you will see a commercial building called Kawaguchi Caste directly in front of you. 2. Walk toward Kawaguchi Caste and go down to the ground floor. Pass in front of the building and take the down escalator to the street level. 3. Turn left and walk toward “Tenya” and “Kaisen Misakiko.” Once you reach the ground level, head left. 4. Continue walking until you see the Kawaguchi Shinkin Bank (Head Office). 5. Enter the small street between the two Kawaguchi Shinkin Bank buildings. 6. Walk straight. Anko flowers are a modern, artistic form of wagashi made from anko — the star ingredient of Japanese confectionery. This sweet bean paste has been at the heart of wagashi culture for centuries, and in this workshop you will use it to create your own edible flower.
Your instructor will begin with a demonstration of how an anko flower is crafted. Since the delicate petals are prepared in advance, you can enjoy creating the leaf — an easy and satisfying step that ensures everyone succeeds, even if you’re not confident with fine handwork.
