Strolling through the historic districts of Rione Monti and Aia Piccola, you can admire iconic landmarks such as the Trullo Sovrano and the Church of Sant'Antonio. Named a World Heritage Site in 1996, Alberobello is an extraordinary example of vernacular architecture, captivating with its authentic and timeless atmosphere.

You'll have plenty of time to explore the village at your leisure, pop into the artisan workshops, have lunch, or just soak up the atmosphere. There's also a tasting of typical local products, such as sweet and/or savoury taralli, bitters and/or wines, to discover the authentic flavours of Puglia.

Matera

The tour continues to Matera, one of the oldest cities in the world, famous for its Sassi, ancient dwellings carved into the rock. Here, an expert and qualified local guide will take you to discover the Sasso Caveoso and the Sasso Barisano, telling you about the city's thousand-year history and its extraordinary journey of rebirth, culminating in its appointment as the European Capital of Culture in 2019.

During the visit, you can enter some rupestrian churches, such as the Church of Santa Maria de Idris, and you'll have the opportunity to visit a house-museum (optional admission, extra €2.50) to understand how people lived in the Sassi until the 1950s.
