Designed for curious travellers and wine lovers alike, this one-hour experience offers a deep dive into Albania’s wine culture, raki traditions, and local gastronomy.
The tasting includes four carefully selected Albanian wines. Two of them come from the historical region of Berat, known for its winemaking heritage and unique microclimate. The other two wines are sourced from Northern and Southern Albania, providing a broader perspective on the country’s regional grape varieties and production styles. Each wine is introduced with background information on its origin, characteristics, and cultural relevance, offering context that enhances the tasting experience.
The session also features a tasting of one traditional Albanian raki, either grape-based or juniper-based. This part of the experience is not just about tasting, but understanding — guests will learn about the distillation process, the differences between raki types, and the role of this iconic spirit in Albanian culture and hospitality.
To accompany the drinks, a curated selection of traditional Albanian food is served. Guests can enjoy local cured meats, regional cheeses, fresh homemade “bogace” bread, bruschetta with olive pâté, and seasonal fruits. These pairings are chosen to complement the flavours of the wines and raki, while also offering an introduction to the country’s culinary identity.
The experience takes place at Hani i Qerosit, a charming and rustic venue just outside Berat, known for its authentic atmosphere and deep connection to local tradition. To make the visit even more comfortable and accessible, pickup and drop-off from Berat city centre is included in the price, allowing you to fully relax and enjoy the experience without any logistical concerns.
This tasting is ideal for couples, small groups, and solo travellers looking to explore Albania through its flavours and traditions.
