What you can expect

  • Embark on a day trip from Kutaisi to the Colchis State Reserve and the ancient Black Sea city of Poti. Enjoy a guided tour of the Colchis National Park, visit the city of Poti, and see the Poti Lighthouse and Cathedral.

    Begin your adventure with a pickup from your hotel in Kutaisi. Head to the Colchis State Reserve, a national park and nature reserve in the Colchis Lowland. Enjoy a guided tour of the park and learn about the region's natural beauty and vegetative splendour.

    Stop at the Colchis National Park Visitor Centre and take a boat ride around the picturesque Paliastomi Lake. Continue to the banks of the Pichora River and a bird watching observation deck.

    Next, visit the island of Kolymbari, which was once home to a Soviet military unit. Continue to the city of Poti, one of the three main ports of the 20th century. Visit the Poti Lighthouse, a silent giant with over 150 years of history.

    Admire the unique sights of architecture and visit the Cathedral in the centre of Poti, a smaller copy of the Hagia Sophia in Constantinople. Learn about its history and interior decoration.

    In the evening, return to Kutaisi.
