What you can expect

Embark on an unforgettable hiking adventure with us through Volcanoes National Park, where Mother Nature’s artistry unfolds at every turn. This 7.5 km (4.5-mile) guided hike. Your journey will kick off with spectacular views of the Halemaʻumaʻu Crater, a site of ongoing volcanic activity since December 23, 2024. You’ll have the opportunity to witness the mesmerising effects of recent eruptions, characterised by vigorous lava fountaining reaching heights of over 1,000 feet that occur every week or two.

As we proceed, you’ll trek across the Kilauea Iki Crater’s hardened lava lake, formed during the dramatic 1959 eruption. Here, the stark contrast of the rugged terrain and the remnants of hot lava flow will captivate your senses. This unique setting gives you a feel for the raw power that has shaped this land for centuries. You’ll also explore the enchanting Nahuku Lava Tube, one of the park’s most fascinating natural wonders, where you can walk through ancient lava flows and admire the geological formations that tell the storey of volcanic processes.

Immerse yourself in the rich history of volcanic activity as we traverse varied terrains that showcase the diverse beauty of Hawaiian landscapes. Our expert guides, with their wealth of wilderness experience and interpersonal skills, will illuminate the significance of each stop along the way. They not only act as knowledgeable educators but also share a deep passion for nature, making your journey both informative and enjoyable.

We take care of all logistics and provide top-quality gear, allowing you to focus entirely on the experience without worrying about the details. With small group sizes typically ranging from 2-6 participants, you’ll enjoy a more personal connection with both the natural world and your fellow travellers, enhancing the richness of your adventure.
