Departing from Xi'an, we headed to the Xi'an Qinling Giant Panda Protection and Research Centre. As one of the three major giant panda breeding and research bases in China, the centre focuses on tackling the technologies of giant panda breeding, reproduction, and disease control. It also conducts research on Qinling giant panda habitats, artificial breeding, and brown giant pandas. The centre has the world's only captive brown giant panda population, with a population of 49 as of 2023.

Qi Zai is a male brown Qinling giant panda, born in 2009. He is the only living brown giant panda in the world.

10:00 The driver will pick you up from your hotel. You only need to wait in the hotel lobby; they will be holding a sign with your name for easy identification.
10:00-11:30 Qinling Giant Panda Research Centre, one of the three major giant panda breeding research bases in China
11:30-12:00 Pass through Huxian County, where you will pick up lunch (Qin Town Rice Noodles + Roujiamo). Rice noodles are a speciality of Shaanxi.
