What you can expect

  • DAY 1: ARRIVAL QUITO

    A bilingual local guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you comfortably to your hotel.

    • Overnight in Quito

    DAY 2: QUITO – COTOPAXI

    Depart from your Quito hotel to visit a rose plantation and Cotopaxi National Park, with a lagoon walk, possible ascent to José Rivas Refuge, páramo tea break, and lunch at a mountain lodge.

    • Overnight in Cotopaxi.

    DAY 3: COTOPAXI – QUILOTOA – BAÑOS

    Travel along the Avenue of the Volcanoes to Quilotoa, visiting a traditional indigenous market, enjoying the lagoon views or hike, and an Andean lunch, then continue to Baños in the afternoon.

    • Overnight in Baños.

    DAY 4: BAÑOS – RIOBAMBA

    Enjoy a scenic drive to Runtún to visit the Tree House and Swing at the End of the World, then explore the Waterfall Route and hike to Devil’s Cauldron before continuing to Riobamba.

    • Overnight in Riobamba.

    DAY 5: RIOBAMBA – CHIMBORAZO RESERVE – RIOBAMBA

    Visit Chimborazo Wildlife Reserve, hike from Carrel to Whymper Refuge, enjoy Andean views and páramo landscapes, then have a traditional lunch and cultural visit in La Moya before returning to Riobamba.

    • Overnight in Riobamba.

    DAY 6: RIOBAMBA – INGAPRICA – CUENCA

    Breakfast at the hotel.

    Today, we travel towards the Ozogoche Lagoons, passing by Lake Colta and visiting the historic Balbanera Church, the oldest church in Ecuador, built by the Spanish in 1534. Discover the mystical beauty of the Ozogoche Lagoons, a sacred site surrounded by the Andean highlands and steeped in ancient legends. Located within Sangay National Park, these cold, crystal-clear lagoons offer breathtaking scenery, perfect for connecting with nature, learning about local indigenous traditions, and, with some luck, spotting Andean birdlife. A peaceful and spiritual experience in the heart of the Andes.

    We then continue to Ingapirca, Ecuador’s most important archaeological complex, where you will explore the fascinating history of the Cañari and Inca civilisations.

    Finally, we proceed to Cuenca.

    • Overnight in Cuenca.

    DAY 7: CUENCA – CAJAS NATIONAL PARK – GUAYAQUIL

    Explore Cajas National Park with walks and hikes around Llaviuco and Toreadora Lakes, enjoy panoramic viewpoints, lunch locally, then continue to Guayaquil.

    • Overnight in Guayaquil.

    DAY 8: GUAYAQUIL DEPARTURE

    Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before transferring to the airpor
