What you can expect

The Marangu Route, offered by Kilimanjaro Winners and Safaris, follows the oldest and most established trail on Mount Kilimanjaro. Known as the “Coca-Cola Route”, it is famed for its comfort, history, and scenic charm. Unlike other routes, Marangu provides permanent huts with dormitory-style accommodation, dining halls, and basic washrooms from flushing toilets and running water at lower huts to long-drop toilets near the summit.

Its well-maintained path and gradual slopes make it one of the easiest and most popular routes to Uhuru Peak, ideal even during the rainy season thanks to its sheltered huts. Both the ascent and descent use the same trail, and climbers from the Rongai Route also descend via Marangu.
