Activity itinerary

Praca do Giraldo (Pass by)
This square, dating from the 14th century, is the heart of the city and the place where tourists enjoy the relaxed atmosphere here. Here was the old town hall, which was later demolished during the construction of the church of Santo Antão. In the 16th century the square was named after the Portuguese explorer Giraldo Sem Pavor. The square is home to the impressive 16th-century Palácio de Dom Manuel, a beautiful example of the transition between Gothic and Renaissance architecture.
Banco de Portugal - Agência de Évora (Pass by)
The Banco de Portugal is one of the most photographed buildings in the city. In the 19th century, Évora underwent many urban transformations, some with questionable results. This is where the prison and the old town hall stood, now the branch of Banco de Portugal.
Igreja de Sao Francisco (Pass by)
We walk past the Igreja de São Francisco. Unfortunately, few remains of the original church, built in 1224 by the Franciscan Order. It was an extremely simple building, without decoration or rich materials. At the end of the 15th century, when Portugal was a world trading power, this church was renovated with great glamour and opulence. And that can still be seen inside. Now this church represents the economic power that Portugal had at the time. Feel free to take a look inside, it's free.
Evora Public Garden (Pass by)
In this park you will find the statue of Vasco de Gama and the royal palace
Royal Palace of Évora (Pass by)
The Royal Palace of Évora, also known as the Royal Palace of São Francisco and the Palace of King Manuel I, is a former royal residence of the kings of Portugal, in Évora, the capital of Alentejo. The palace has its origins in a monastery from the 13th century. The royal family stayed in this palace for a long time, in 1865 the palace became an archaeological museum. The palace is integrated into the garden and is without a doubt one of the most beautiful buildings in the city.
Travessa do Barão (Pass by)
We walk through the heart of the Jewish Quarter, in the past one of the largest and richest Jewish areas in Portugal.
Rua Serpa Pinto (Pass by)
We walk along the 6 km long wall of Évora: a nice way to get an impression of the city. The oldest part of the wall dates from the third century.
Aqueduct (Pass by)
The Agua de Prata Aqueduct is 18 km long, the highest arch is 26 metres. The aqueduct was connected to the fountain on Praça do Giraldo,
Cadaval Palace (Evora) (Pass by)
The Cadaval Palace, located opposite the Roman temple, is a unique example of the country's architectural heritage, combining Mudéjar, Gothic and Manueline styles. The palace was built in the 14th century on the ruins of a Moorish castle in the heart of Évora.
Templo Romano Évora (Pass by)
The calling card of Évora for 2000 years and one of the most important historical ruins in Portugal: the Roman Temple.
